Would you consider a full weave sew-in as
a Protective Style?
Is it wise to leave it in for a long period of time with out
being to able to grease your scalp?

Slippery slope with the full-heads. Your hair will need to be moisturized to combat breakage and it's hard to do that. If you do get one, don't leave it in for too long.
I dont think that it is a good idea to leave them in long because it is impossible to cleanse and condition your real hair properly ( I dont know about greasing the scalp. I dont like that stuff). I have one in now (my first weave) and I dont like it because I cant reach my scalp. I feel my hair is in bondage. :(
I like that cut by the way. I may do that when it is time to cut this thing out
Well i dont have a sew in but i do wear a quick weave with the stocking cap. I can honestly say that i have seen tremendous growth b/c i havent been touching my hair...it usually last about 2 to 3
weeks. But I'm also not fully natural just yet this is my transition style...
I left mine in for about a month and a half, and it got very irritating after a while. I had to take that ting out lol. I need some more protective style options other than braids.

@heavenly: I've never had a quick weave b4. I'm going to have to ask about that lol. Good luck with your transition =)

this is such a niceee do! i'm too scared to try such a drastically different do, but it looks nice on u!
I have one now, and I think one of the common mistake is that people don't always wash and treat their own hair whilst they hve a weave. I would say if you keep it for around 6 weeks, go for a steam and deep conditionning treatment after 3 and reapeat ater you've taken it out.
These are all great answers guys but in my opinion... sewn in weaves are safe. To cleanse, you can do a sea breeze treatment and to moisturize, just do a deep condition treatment... using a pointed squeeze bottle to get in the roots. Holla at me and I can give you more tips chica!

WELL FOR ME WHILE I WAS TRANSITIONING I GOT A WEAVE PUT IN AND IT WAS GREAT FOR MY HAIR.. I JUST USED A BOTTLE WITH A POINTED APPLICATOR AND PUT SOME MILD SHAMPOO IN THE BOTTLE AND DILUTED IT WITH WATER! IT WORKED FOR ME BUT MY SCALP WAS SO ITCHY!! I USED TO BE AT WORK ITCHIN MY SCALP WITH MY RAT TAIL COMB! BUT I LEFT IT IN FOR ABOUT A 6 WEEKS.. WIGS ARE GOOD TOO!
