Thursday my girl Imani and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings
for dinner with a couple of her friends from Howard..
Laughed my butt off at this guys fake ID.. it was Hilarious,
and his friends made even funnier.
The food was great, and now I think I'm addicted to that

All in all Thursday night was a wonderful one.
Moving on.. Friday I had the pleasure of being introduced
to some Indian Cuisine at Jyoti by my girl Imani.
She treated Dana and myself to dinner, and yes..
It was bomb, I must go back.

I had the vegetable one with potatoes on the inside =)
My face is hilarious lol

"No "Good Black Men" Revisited"

"Sistas,
Before we form our mouths to say “there are no good black men” we need to look at this from a different perspective. Here, we’ll visit the socio-economic factors then we’ll go into personal accountability.
BUT FIRST: It’s one thing to want a man that meets your “standards” aka requirements and it’s another thing to have unattainable standards. Reevaluate those first. Accountability.
It is fact that black men make up the MAJORITY of the prison population (in comparison to any other race&sex) and the MINORITY of the college population. So while you’re getting your master’s master’s, he has been going day to day being “a black man in America.” With this comes a lot: racial profiling, glass ceilings, being looked over for “good jobs,” “driving while black,” street influences, pressures from every-whicha-way be they psychological, physical, emotional etc.
You HAVE never, and WILL never, walk a DAY in the life of a black man so beware of how you speak of these Kings. Being the advocate for personal accountability, I recommend that we be more conscious of the prejudices we place on our brothers. Check yourself before pointing the finger at anyone.
Maybe you get “dogged” because there is something in YOU that allows that to happen in your Queendom.
Maybe you can’t find “a good man” because of the places YOU’RE looking. Being uber-selective is a gift and a curse. Blinders can only leave you blind; blind to someone good for/to you.
You should know what a good woman is BEFORE you go looking for a “good man.” Know how you should be treated and why you deserve it. That will weed out SO much. Build yourself up before seeking your reflection. BE a Queen if you want a King.
Maybe YOU’RE not ready for what you’re looking for (emotionally, psychologically etc.)
I say all this to say, we should be more conscious of our thoughts, words and actions in reference to our brothers. The “easy way out” is to point the finger. Think about all the of the circumstantial factors before making such a powerful statement about the men with whom our legacy is dependent. There is us them without them and vice versa.
Peace & Unity. "

Still Lacking...

Hello All..
In my previous post entitled "Hot Chocolate Please,"
I touch on the subject of the Lack of African and African American Male and
Female Models being shown in High Fashion Editorials, and known
fashion magazines like Elle and Vogue...
It really makes me think, and is kind of upsetting when I
go and look trhough a fashion magazine wanting
to cut out some pictures for a collage and all I
see are Caucasian models.. Yes, the clothes are beautiful,
the models are beautiful, and the poses are Feirce lol,
But We can do it too.. Which brings me to another point
Y support a market that doesnt support you?
I need to see more African, and African American Models
represented in these High Fashion Editorials, and walking in these
NYFW, and Paris Fashion Week Fashion Shows.
I want to cut their pictures out
of Magazines like Elle, Vogue, Bazar and W.
This just really erks me, and I cant shake it.
That is all, rant over (not really though lol)

Hair Catastrophe PT 2

This is kind of old news but hey what the heck lol..

Now I'm sure that most of you have read my first "hair catastrophe" post
But there is MORE lol

Now after being stood up by my usual stylist, I was referred to
another one by my friend Kristian.
The woman charged the same as Francis and everthing.

So a couple of weeks ago I call to make my appointment, and
I tell her how much hair i have (1 full pack and half a pack)
and she goes to tell me that I have enough hair.. WRONG

Now Im there I show her the pictures of the style I want and shes like ok,
thats cute. Now im sitting in the chair, trusting her hands (shouldnt have done that lol)
and the whole time im a little uneasy

Hair is finished it looks like Blah, but i go home and sleep on it thinking i will like
it better in the morning.. NO GOOD lol, i really just wanted to wear a hood on my
head all day.

So to fix the situation I go back to the salon, and ask her to take it out cause I dont like it, and
I got half of my money back to.. #WIN lol

peep the pics I'm only showing u guys this because this is what a sew in should NOT look like lol
sadly, that woman can NOT CUT HAIR

You see Dawn and Kelis' hair, this is what I was going for, but that^ is what i got lol
So it's back to Francis I go
Would you rather have a BOMB Stylist or a Soso stylist who is very polite and professional?

2010 Will Be...

2010 will be a good year for me.. I can feel it, as long as
I stay focused on my goals and STOP PROCRASTINATING
I will be fine lol. I have learned a lot about myself,
And one thing is for sure, I am not easily angered.
I have let go of some ppl, some ppl have let go of me.
I am a stronger, and a more patient individual.. Single again,
and I am not looking for love, I will just let it fall in my lap..
Ima just continue to be me and stay true to myself, and others..
This year will indeed be prosperous

LIVE LOVE LEARN

Let me just tell you guys how important those three words are to me..
This past weekend the guy that I had been dating for a little over a year
broke up with me. Yes I was sad, and upset.. but I cried, built a bridge and got over it
I want nothing more than to love and have the person I'm with love me back.
In the end it had nothing to do with me but a lot to do with him, and I respect his
decision although I was willing to stick it out.
I'm going to continue to keep moving and bettering myself as a person
I live, I love, and I learn from all past experiences. They make me stronger and wiser.
On another note, how was your weekend.. AND HAPPY NEW YEAR. Lets make moves! =)
